Overview

This hard top tri-fold cover is built for the Chevy Silverado’s 6.5 ft bed, using an alloy steel frame with a fiberglass panel top. The tri-fold design lets you open just the section of the bed you need, and each panel locks down independently with the tailgate and side latch system.

As with the rest of the Autobull lineup, the goal here is a lower price point than the premium tonneau brands without dropping the core materials that matter — the frame is still alloy steel, the panel is still fiberglass, and the mounting hardware still locks. The tradeoff for the lower price is a narrower style range than some premium brands offer, but the materials themselves aren’t downgraded to hit that price.

Fitment note: This cover is not compatible with a CarbonPro composite bed — the raised rail profile is incompatible with the clamp mounting system. Confirm your bed material before ordering.

Built From

Alloy Steel Frame

Structural support at the mounting points and panel edges, consistent across the Autobull lineup.

Fiberglass Panel

The load-bearing top surface on this hard top tri-fold style.

Weather Stripping

Rubber seal strips along the rail and tailgate contact points to reduce water intrusion.

Locking Clamps

Key-locked bed rail clamps for basic theft deterrence on the closed cover.

Confirming Your Chevy Silverado’s Fit

Bed length has to match exactly for the panels to seat on the rail and seal correctly. This cover is built for the Chevy Silverado’s 6.5 ft bed — check your bed length on the door jamb sticker or in your owner’s manual before ordering, since Silverado is also sold with 5.8 ft and 8 ft bed options depending on cab configuration.

How Installation Works

  1. Clean the bed rails. Wipe down the factory rail where the clamps will sit.
  2. Position the panels. Set the tri-fold assembly squarely on the rail, front edge first.
  3. Clamp and torque. Hand-tighten the included clamps, then torque them down evenly.
  4. Square it up. Check the front and rear edges sit evenly before final tightening.
  5. Test the latches. Open, close, and lock the tailgate and side latches to confirm smooth operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this fit both 1500 and heavy-duty Silverado models?

This listing is fitted for the 6.5 ft bed configuration. Confirm your specific Silverado’s bed length on the door jamb sticker before ordering, since Silverado is sold across multiple bed lengths and trims.

Is the panel actually fiberglass, or a fiberglass composite?

The panel top uses fiberglass construction over the alloy steel frame — the same core material spec used across Autobull’s hard top tri-fold lineup.

Does this fit Silverados with a CarbonPro bed?

No. The CarbonPro composite bed has a different rail profile that this cover’s clamp system isn’t compatible with. Check your build sheet or bed material before ordering.

Can I install this by myself?

Yes, though the panel sections are larger on a Super Duty-length cover, so a second person can make clamping easier. It ships in pre-assembled sections and mounts with included rail clamps.

Does it come with a lock?

Yes, the mounting clamps include a locking mechanism standard, not as a separate purchase.

What if a seal or latch wears out?

Seal kits and latch kits are sold separately in our Accessories lineup, so a worn part doesn’t mean replacing the whole cover.
